January 2018 Teacher Feature:
Coach Collins

am very honored and thankful to be recognized as Washington Street’s January Teacher Feature.  This is my first year teaching Physical Education here at Washington Street Elementary.  I also serve as the PE teacher at West Hartsville Elementary.  This is my 7th year as a teacher.  Before I came to Washington Street, I taught for 5 years at West Florence High School and 1 year at Darlington Middle School and Cain Elementary School in Darlington.  I grew up in Florence, where I graduated from West Florence High School.  After High School I attended The Citadel where I also played football.  This past December my wife Rachel and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary.  Rachel is also a teacher at Dewey Carter Elementary School in Florence.  Some of my hobbies include coaching football, playing golf, watching Netflix with my wife, and hanging out watching sports with friends.  I want to thank all of the staff at Washington Street for making me feel so welcome in my first year here and am looking forward to a great second half of the school year!
